I think a better question would be, "Who will be the Biggest Winner?" instead of "Who will be the Biggest Loser?"
This is the end of our first week with Anna and the Ultimate Loser 3 (UL). I am sore but I have more energy and self esteem already. You might think that I don't need more self esteem, but hey more self esteem is always a good thing. Sometimes, we all have issues that we hide. I try to be the strong or the tough one, and not let anyone see my insecurities. So, yes, self esteem is welcome all the time. Ha!
The best way to become a healthier person is to move more and we have done that this week, or at least I have. Joe Gibbs once said, "You have to work hard and pay the price to be what you want to be." and we have paid the price of this program and we have paid the price of hard work outs this week with Anna pushing us past that 60% that most folks work out without a trainer. I am so proud of each and everyone of us. We rock!
Week one is over. Amazing! We all worked hard and if the scale does not show it tomorrow, just remember it is just a hunk of metal and plastic. It does not see what I see. That scale is also not smart, it cannot tell you what is fat and what is muscle. Remember that "muscle weighs more than fat, but takes up less room". Most of us have worked hard this week and as we work hard we are building muscle back, and we will see our clothes becoming looser and losser. Yeah!
Part of the Ultimate Loser program has been for me to surround myself with supportive people who are like-minded in terms of reaching for goals and pursuing a healthy lifestyle. Sometimes the hardest part of making heathly lifestyle changes can be making yourself talk to others. Not for me, cause I love to talk, and I talk to everyone. My problem is shutting up and some folks want me to do that a lot; I am sure. Ha!
Let the people you meet at UL help. Look at it this way, we are not alone with our weight, fitness and health issues. This is a wonderful opportunity to support someone and also to open up and talk. Don't be afraid to ask for help or advice, that is what Ultimate Loser 3 is all about-providing a supportive community of like-minded people helping and encouraging each other. That is why I am back for the third time.
Okay, I am back because I gained my weigh back! Busted!
I am so proud of each of us. Yes, I am happy and proud. We made it through our first week. It will be week 8 before we know it and we will not want this journey to end. Let's absorb all the knowledge and health tips we can from Anna. She will most likely provide us with our individualized nutrition plan tomorrow. By the end of this 8 week program she will equip each of us with the knowledge and skill of what we will need to do to continue on a life of wellness. We can get contol of our unhealthy habits, but it takes will, determination, and even courage to face ourselves and others to begin to make the changes that will make our life a FIT and HEALTHY EXPERIENCE.
It is not an easy journey right now, but new habits need to take place in order to take control of those unhealthy habits that got us all here. Right?
Remember you are not alone, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Sometimes we need to change our life from the inside before we see change on the outside. Thats is what I am trying to do. I am reading and studying the word, nutrition and fitness. God knows what is in our hearts and what our needs are, so ask him in to be your captain. He is the answer.
See you guys tomorrow.
